The album chart welcomes three brand new entries this week, in a much changed chart and for once not monopolised by a certain Mr Wayne. Ice Cube, a pioneer of the rap game, slips into pole position with his new album Raw Footage. This forces Lil Wayne into second spot. The second new entry enters at a very respectable third, courtesy of Shwayze. Yung Berg slips four, to sixth, whilst number nine hosts the last of the new entries, this time from GZA / Genius with their Pro Tools. Three 6 Mafia are left to complete the hip hop albums top 10 for the first week in September.

In contrast to the albums chart, this week's singles chart remains virtually untouched from the previous week, with the top four songs retaining their positions, meaning that Lil Wayne maintains his dominance, with A Milli. Yung Berg and Rick Ross switch places, at five and six respectively, whilst T.I. moves up two slots to this week's seven. Plies occupies ninth and tenth to round up the top 10 singles for this week.
