Billboard Award Winners Dupri Kanye Public Enemy

The 2006 Billboard R&B / Hip-Hop Awards Awards were held in Atlanta, with Jermaine Dupri bagging both Top Songwriter and Top Producer awards.
Dupri, CEO of So So Def, won the Top Songwriter category, making it out on top above other contenders - Johnta Austin, R. Kelly and Scott Storch. Dupri also came out on top to win the Top Producer award.
Mariah Carey returned to the big time bagging a total of 5 awards, including Top R&B / Hip-Hop artist in both overall and female categories for her release set The Emancipation of Mimi.
Public Enemy were credited with the 2006 Hip-Hop Founders Award for their contributions to the hip hop genre throught the years.
Man of the moment Kanye West, took home the Top Rap album award for Late Registration and, perhaps unsurprisingly, the Hot Rap Track award for "Gold Digger" featuring Jamie Foxx. Elsewhere, Young Jeezy won the category for best new R&B / Hip-Hop Artist.
