Dmx Rejects Plea Deal Settlement
Posted on July 26, 2006
DMX rejected a plea bargain for a recent White Plains traffic case on Monday 24th July.
The reasoning behind the rejected plea is believed to have been due to what DMX views as unfair treatment. If the rapper had accpeted the plea, the case potentially could have been finally settled.
"I don't feel good about this at all" DMX said as he referenced the bail set by City Court Judge Barbara Leak. "It's not fair - $25,000 for traffic tickets? Come on. Let's keep it real."
DMX had not appeared for rpevious court dates and was therefore ordered to a night's imprisonment. DMX was freed July 1 after receiving entitlement of a $2,500 bond.
This whole case stems from one policeman's report that the rapper had been driving over the speed limit, and on further invesitgation it was found that his driving licence was not viable.
If DMX is convicted, the maximum time he could spend inside is 180 days.
