Foxy Brown spoke first time in respect to her loss of hearing during BET's "106 & Park" show, where she stated and confirmed that she hasn't been able to hear for the last six months.

She mentioned that the loss of hearing was first experienced whilst recording her latest album, Black Roses and admits it has been a turbulent journey from then on.

"In May 2005, my life was altered drastically. During my recording of Black Roses, I experienced a sudden hearing loss," said Foxy.

During the emotional speech, Brown announced that the only person she was capable of talking to was God, and she questioned why this ordeal had happened to her. She also said that she is finding it difficult to cope and is feeling increasingly isolated.

Foxy's doctor, Laura Arias, did not indicate why the loss of hearing had began but Arias has performed surgery on a number of previous patients, and generally these all proved successful.

Arias did claim that Foxy would hear again after being treated, but the recovery time differs from patient to patient.

The press conference was full of support for Brown including Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons, model Tyson Beckford, Doug E. Fresh, Dr. Benjamin Chavis, her new attorney Jospeh Fleming, Reverend Young Blood, Cathy Jordan Sharpton, Burt Bedel, her mother and two brothers.

According to Doug E. Fresh, Foxy was in the studio with Jay-Z when her condition began to worsen. During the studio session, the Def Jam President wanted to know why the levels were so high, but Brown felt that the levels were as normal which sparked some concern.

The rappers ended the press conference by decklaring that she whould finish her new album, Black Roses, but it wouldn't be until after her hearing had returned.
