Lil Wayne Pleads Not Guilty To Drug Charges

Following an arrest in January, Lil Wayne was in court on May 6th regarding a number of drug related charges. Lil Wayne has stressed his innocence throughout the ordeal, and continued to in court, pleading not guilty to charges of multiple drug possession and also a weapons charge. He is expected back in court on May 19th.

In the incident which occurred in late January, police found 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy - as well as a 40-caliber pistol. Police found the substances following a search of his tour bus during a routine stop at Border Patrol.

Lil Wayne and his legal team disputed the charges, claiming that there were fewer than 8 grams of coke -- in an effort to receive less strict drug charges. He was arrested along with two others, and taken to Yuma County Sheriff's Department, where he remained overnight, until posting a $10,000 bond the following day and will be free unconditionally pending the final verdict of the court.
