Ludacris Extends Contract With Island Def Jam

Ludacris has signed a contract extension to Island Def Jam Group under his own Disturbing Tha Peace label. Island Def Jam Chairman L.A. Reid declared the lengthened contract, re-assuring the DTP label that Def Jam are prepared to keep backing them, though some DTP members futures remain hazy, including Shareefa, Bobby Valentino and Steph Jones.
"The Atlanta hip-hop scene and the Dirty South movement in general owe more than they can ever repay to Chris," Reid commented via a statement. "Our friendship stretches back more than a decade and I never cease to be amazed at his imagination, creativity, and most of all his outrageous sense of humour."
"Now changing business conditions necessitate that we review our respective rosters and focus to ensure that future opportunities and challenges are aggressively achieved," Reid added. "Ludacris has built Disturbing Tha Peace into one of the iconic names in hip-hop, one that will remain an important part of the Island Def Jam family."
