Rihanna racing up charts with sos

Following the amazing success of her gold debut Island Def Jam release, MUSIC OF THE SUN; Rihanna is gearing up for her sophomore album aptly entitled, A GIRL LIKE ME. Scheduled for release April 25th 2006, A GIRL LIKE ME is being catapulted by another lead smash single, “SOS.”
Rihanna first exploded on to the scene in 2005 with the most downloaded song of the summer, “Pon De Replay,” and the Hot 100 top 5 hit, “If It’s Lovin That You Want.” Now she comes back with “SOS,” featuring the undeniable, classic track – Soft Sell’s “Tainted Love.”
With her amazing success last year and this new infectious track, the beautiful talent has captured the eyes of NIKE and JC Penny.
NIKE has selected to use “SOS” for the launch of their new clothing line inspired by dance. An exclusive video, choreographed by world renowned choreographer Jamie King (Madonna and Shakira) is featured at www.nikewomen.com. Like NIKE, clothing line JC Penny was also captivated by Rihanna. Beginning in February, Rihanna will be the new face of Miss Bisou in their stores, nationwide and in their advertising campaigns. Her video and music will be featured in all Junior’s sections of the stores.
In addition to her endorsement deals, look out for Rihanna’s movie in her cameo role in Bring It On 3.
In 2005, the Barbados native was signed to Def Jam Records on the spot by President and CEO of Def Jam Recordings, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. Her debut album MUSIC OF THE SUN was released the summer August 2005 and was led by the single of the summer "Pon de Replay", which peaked at number two on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK singles chart.
Last year, Rihanna shined in her many television appearances including; Regis & Kelly, The Today Show, MTV’s Video Music Awards, Ellen and the hit television series, Las Vegas.
