Dirty Drum Productions in association with Fresh Goods Clothing announced today that independent hip hop artist and producer, ROCKST*R will release the buzz-worthy single and video "Radio" on Monday July 23rd, 2007.
The ROCKST*R produced, "Radio," an ode to unsigned artists everywhere is a mixture of world rhythms and filtered drums with a distinct hip hop flavor, has been featured in radio, television and internet commercials for the University of Arkansas Diversity Recruitment ad campaign, an innovative commercial series used to actively recruit minority high school students to attend the University of Arkansas.
ROCKST*R's music has also received support on traditional radio stations in Dallas, TX. Houston, TX, Memphis, TN., New York City, NY., and Charlotte, NC., as well as his hometown Little Rock station, Hot 96.5 FM, where ROCKST*R's song "She's In Love" ft. Heavyweight (R.I.P.) and Z-Bra was retired in the popular "Hottest in the Rock" local artist competition.
Over the last 3 years, ROCKST*R has become a staple on the underground hip hop scene. Not to be confused with the typical hip hop artist, ROCKST*R, a descendant of legendary author Alex Haley, is an accomplished musician with a resume that reads more like that of a corporate executive than a budding music superstar.
ROCKST*R attended the famous Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA and eventually received a degree in Marketing and International Business from the University of Arkansas. With extensive travels living and working in vibrant cities such as Toulouse, France, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, CA., ROCKST*R counts his unique experiences as a basis for his innovative sound.
"I'm definitely a product of my experiences, states ROCKSTAR, "I write and produce music that defines my mood, my environment or a specific situation in my life...I use it as a form of therapy."
