Russell Simmons is extending his urban clothing empire, with the introduction of a new menswear collection, Russell Simmons Argyle Culture.
The clothing range is catered towards males in their mid 20's combining a unique mix of urban aesthetics with professional smart clothing, such as a buttoned-up style.
Simmons states that the line is a natural succession to his other lines.
"After nearly 20 years in the young men's business I have always intended to design sophisticated men's wear for the urban graduate," said Simmons.
In an effort to advertise the range, an extensive 6 month advertising campaign will run in publications and on Internet sites. Simmons nickname will not appear on the clothing range, despite the line including his name.
GQ magazine will feature a 4 page spread in its March issue including a behind the scenes look into the publicity photo shoot and background information on the reasoning behind the new line.
Simmons stepped down as CEO of Phat Farm lately, after selling the clothing range for $140 million dollars in 2004.
