T.I. is making an effort to establish himself in the acting profession by landing yet another role, this time in the up and coming film American Gangster.

The rapper will need to be on top of his acting form with the talented cast being disclosed. He will appear beside both acting legend Denzel Washington and the talented Russell Crowe. The movie is being directed by Ridley Scott (Black Hawk Down, Gladiator etc).

American Gangster is all about a drug lord who attempts to smuggle heroin into the country via Vietnam soldiers coffins. T.I. will play the nephew of Denzel Washington's character Frank Lucas, whereas Crowe will appear in character as Richie Roberts, the leading detective assigned to the case.

The Wu-Tang Clan's RZA is also involved with the movie which is due to drop in theaters 2007.
