Gang Starr was a popular rap group which formed in the year of 1987 and remain around, but album releases how been declared as over. Gang Starr simply consists of Guru and DJ Premier. DJ Premier is one of the best producers out there. Guru is a very talented rapper, with the exception of his slow start earlier in his career. DJ Premier has produced for well-known rappers like Nas and Notorious B.I.G. Gang Starr is basically the definition of hip-hop, they’re as hip-hop will get. They were a force in the rap game until 2003.

The albums they have released are No More Mr. Nice Guy (1989), Step In The Arena (1991), Daily Operation (1992), Hard To Earn (1994), Moment of Truth (1998), Full Clip: A decade of Gang Starr (1999), The Ownerz (2003). All 20 songs on this album are good, not one bad song. It is also supported by a few good guest appearances and generally rock solid lyrics. Plus, DJ Premier’s beats are great, with a jazz vibe evident throughout the duration. The guests are Krumbsnatcha, Big Shug, Freddie Foxxx, Inspectah Deck, K-Ci, Jojo, and Nice & Smooth. The great DJ premier produced all the tracks. The standout tracks were Code Of the Streets, Ex-girl to Next Girl, Soliloquy of Chaos, Mass Appeal, and many more.

You really need to add this album to this your collection. Gang Starr were a really great group and were really slept on through out their career. Wake up to them now!
